Two of our own Fire Police Officers Bob and Louise Massey were presented with awards by the Chester County Fire Police Association and citations from the Commonwealth of PA, and the House of Senate. The first award was presented by the Chester County Fire Police Association President Ron Miller to both Bob and Louise for Fire Police Officer of the Year for their continued joint service of 89 years. According to President Miller this award has never been presented to two officers in the same year, Miller was also happy to announce that this was the first time a couple has received this award. Bob and Louise were then presented with citations from the Commonwealth of PA and from the House of Senate.
Bob joined the West Grove Fire Company in 1952 and has held the position of Fire Police Captain and Fire Police Lieutenant. Bob joined the Avondale Fire Company in 1977. In 1989 Bob became Fire Police Lieutenant. Bob currently holds the positions of Fire Police Captain, Trustee, and a Board Member for AFC. He is also the Commissioner of the CCFPA. Bob is still remains extremely active with both fire companies, and CCFPA.
Louise joined the Avondale Fire Company in 1985, where she is still active with her fire police duties, and assisting with food preparation. She is also an active Fire Police member for the West Grove Fire Company. The Massey's are life members with the Avondale Fire Company, West Grove Fire Company, and Chester County Fire Police Association.

The Avondale Fire Company Officers know being a Fire Police Officer is not always an easy job, yet these folks are in the road assisting with traffic control no matter day or night and/or weather conditions. We would like to thank the Massey's and all of our fire police for a job well done and their continued support.
