At 0007 hours, the Avondale Fire Company was alerted to the 1300 block of Newark Road for an auto accident.

Squad, Ambulance, Chief and Fire Police responded to the scene. Chief 23 arrived first and found an SUV approximately 50’ off the roadway with the operator still in the vehicle.

Squad 23 arrived on scene and stabilized the vehicle with multiple pieces of cribbing. The crew utilized a 16’ roof ladder to extricate the patient from the vehicle. Ambulance 23 transported 1 patient to Christiana Hospital. Avondale Fire Police closed the road around the scene. Crews assisted Blittersdorf’s Towing with lighting on scene until the vehicle was towed away.

Final units cleared at 0145 hours.
