At 1107 hours, the Avondale Fire Company was dispatched to the intersection of W. Baltimore Pike and Cedar Springs Road for a two-vehicle auto accident reported with one subject trapped.
Squad 23 and both Ambulances made the response and while en-route, were notified that PD had arrived on location and confirmed one trapped in the vehicle. Squad 23 acknowledged and a medic was added due to the nature but was recalled by crews on scene shortly after.
Upon arrival, crews found two vehicles involved with one with a smashed in door that the PD nor the driver could get open, so crews from Squad 23 stabilized all four sides of the vehicle and then used a spreader tool to pop open the door and free the trapped driver.
Crews remained on scene until Blittersdorf Towing arrived and removed the vehicle and cleared debris.
Fire police closed down Cedar Springs Road at Cypress Street and ran one lane on Baltimore Pike.
All units cleared at 1142 hours. |
