At 2044 hours on Thursday, March 13, the company was alerted to Limestone and Old Limestone Roads in New Garden Township for an automobile accident.
Squad, EMS, and Captain 23 made the response on dispatch.
Multiple calls were coming into the 911 center of one vehicle on its side and a person still in the vehicle. With this information, the incident was quickly upgraded to entrapment adding SCCEMS (Medic 94).
Captain 23 arrived with the SCCRPD, finding a two-vehicle collision, with one vehicle on its side as reported.
As Captain 23 investigated, it was confirmed that the driver was confined in his vehicle. The driver was removed from the vehicle and turned over to EMS personnel. The Squad then provided lighting and hazard control, while fire police closed the area roadway off. Once the vehicles were removed by Blittersdorf's Towing, the company cleared the incident at 2200 hours.
Captain 23 held the Avondale Command.
