At 2005 hours on February 17, the Avondale Fire Company was dispatched to Route 41 and Ellicott Avenue in Avondale Borough for an auto accident involving a sedan and a tractor-trailer blocking.
Southern Chester County Regional Police arrived on location first and found one patient inside the sedan unconscious and immediately requested ALS which brought on Medic 94.
Squad and Ambulance 23 arrived less than a minute after PD and confirmed negative entrapment inside the sedan. Chief 23 arrived shortly after and established command and directed Fire Police to close Route 41 at Baltimore Pike and Penn Green Road.
The patient was removed from the vehicle and transported to a local hospital by EMS. At the same time, crews from Squad 23 assisted with cleaning up debris and securing the vehicle for the tow company upon their arrival.
Blittersdorf's Towing arrived and towed away both the sedan and tractor-trailer from the scene.
