At 2148 hours, Avondale Fire Company along with the Chester County Rescue Task Force and Medic 94 were dispatched to the 8900 Block of Gap Newport Pike in New Garden Township for a reported accident involving a structure.
Ambulance 23-1 and Chief 23 made the response and were advised by Chester County Fire Board that the Southern Chester County Police had a vehicle strike a residence causing visible damage to the home. Squad 23 made the response at the same time as Ambulance 23-1 arrived on the scene and reported minor damage to the exterior.
Chief 23 arrived, established the Avondale Command and had crews check both the exterior and interior of the structure for any further structural damage. Upon investigation, it was found that there was minimal damage to the building and the Rescue Task Force was released from the assignment and it was held to 23 units.
Traffic 23 and AFC Fire Police provided traffic control on Route 41 to assist with fire and EMS apparatus coming and leaving the scene.
The scene was turned back over to the police department, and AFC units cleared at 2210 hours.
