Avondale Fire Company is excited to publicly announce our new Utility!

This process began in September of 2022 when the Chief appointed a new Utility committee. The committee, comprised of 5 members were given the task to replace the existing aging unit (2009 Ford F350) with something more modern. The committee searched for a vehicle that would fit our needs, budget, and was available immediately but were unsuccessful. At that time, it was decided to place an order for a 2023 Ford F350. A few months after placing the order, a stock 2022 leftover F350 was located and our order for the 2023 F350 was cancelled. The 2022 unit was a perfect fit except for one thing, the color! This unit is silver which was not one of our "color standards" at the time. After discussing with the Board of Directors, the purchase for the 2022 F350 was approved. The unit was immediately sent for upfitting. Fast forward to August 2023, the new Utility is finally home! We are excited to get our drivers trained on the unit and hope to have it in service within the next few weeks.
