On Saturday afternoon at 1529 hours, Avondale Fire Company was alerted for a trash fire in the 400 block of Sharp Road.

Chief, Engine, Tanker, and EMS made the response within minutes of dispatch. Chief 23 arrived to find a large trash fire spreading into the field, woods, and an automobile. Chief 23 also noticed fireworks exploding from the fire itself. Due to the tight and unleveled
long driveway accessing the scene, Chief 23 had the engine lay 600' of their 5" supply line.
Engine crews deployed handlines and began fire suppression, while Tanker 23 arrived, supplying the Engine’s supply line.

Chief 23 established Sharp Road command, adding another tanker to the incident.
Once the fire was contained, command placed the incident under control, and released Tanker 25. After a large amount of overhaul, Avondale units cleared at 1735 hours.
