At 0735 hours on July 17, while crews were starting to wrap up a carbon monoxide alarm, Chester County Fireboard notified Deputy 23 (Bessicks) of a reported shed on fire in the 150 block of Old Limestone Road in New Garden Township.

Deputy and Engine 23 made the response right after being notified and could immediately see a header of smoke while responding out of the Hartefeld development.

Engine 23 arrived and confirmed the report of a shed fully involved in flames and went in service with a 300' attack line. Deputy 23 arrived and established "Old Limestone Command" for the duration of the incident. Crews made a quick knock on the fire and were assisted in overhaul operations by crews from Kennett and Hockessin Fire Companies.

Avondale would also like to extend a thank you to both West Grove and Longwood Fire Companies for handling incidents in Avondale's district during the fire.
