Newark Road Auto Accident

At 0543 hours on June 28th, the Avondale Fire Company was alerted for an auto accident on Newark Road in front of the New Garden Flying Field.
Responding crews were advised by CCFB that the caller stated there were 2 vehicles involved, and that one hit an electrical pole.
Ambulance 23-1 arrived first, advising one vehicle blocking the roadway after hitting an electrical pole.
After further investigation, it was determined to be a single vehicle accident.
Chief 23 arrived, requesting Newark Road be closed between Baltimore Pike and Polo Road.
Chief 23 also added an additional ambulance at the request of Ambulance 23-1 for a second patient, which alerted MICU125. Squad 23 arrived, securing the vehicle and handled hazards. PECO was requested to the scene for the damaged electrical pole.
Ambulance 23-1 transported one patient to a local hospital while MICU125 obtained a refusal from the second patient.
Blittersdorf's Towing arrived and removed the vehicle. The road was reopened, and the company cleared at 0650 hours.
