The Avondale Fire Company was alerted to assist Cochranville Fire Company along with other mutual aid companies to a structure fire on Street Road in the area of Route 41. Hazmat Captain 15-A arrived advising of a well involved barn fire, with fire extension into a residential structure. Engine 23-2 (Owen) arrived as the first due engine, split laying their 5" supply line from the entrance into the scene. Crews stretched their 2 1/2" hand line to begin fire suppression.

Captain 23 (Cole) arrived with the engine, establishing the Cochranville Command and requested the working fire dispatch (WFD), as well as PECO electric. Ladder 22 arrived as the first due special setting up on the "A" side and began fulfilling the special service assignments. Engine 22-1 arrived as the second due engine, connecting to Engine 23-2's supply line and forward laying to Routes 41 & 926 for the water supply site. Due to the amount of fire, Engine 23-2 charged their deck gun to knock the majority of the fire down. Chief 22 (Felker) arrived on-scene and command was transferred from Captain 23. Command continued to request additional resources to the incident.
All crews assisted with fire extinguishment and overhaul operations during the incident.

Special thanks to NCC Engine 17 (Five Points) for covering Avondale district.
