Shortly before 2pm, Thursday afternoon, the Avondale Fire Company was dispatched to the intersections of W Baltimore Pike and Thompson Road for a two vehicle auto accident with one vehicle reported down an embankment.

Chief, Deputy, Ambulance 23-1 and Engine 23-1 made the response just after dispatch. Avondale's Fire Police Captain arrived on location first and confirmed a two vehicle auto accident with a pick-up truck on the shoulder and a sedan down an embankment. The address was also changed to W Cypress Street and Thompson Road. Fortunately, there were no injuries nor entrapment for either involved vehicle.

Engine 23-2 and Traffic 23 made the response shortly after the previous 23 units arrived on scene. Traffic 23 took W Cypress Street down to one lane of travel to provide safety for the crews on the scene with Engine 23-2 taking a blocking position behind to help slow down traffic.

Crews awaited Blittersdorf's towing to remove the vehicle that was down the embankment while the pick-up truck was still drivable and did not require any tow services.

Chief 23 held "Avondale Command" for the incident.
