At 1204 hours, Avondale and West Grove Fire Companies were both dispatched to assist Hockessin Fire Company and mutual aid to the 20 Block of Renee Lane for a working garage fire. Engine 23-2 went en-route after dispatch with a crew of three. Engine 23-2 arrived as the third due Engine and stretched an attack line off of Hockessin's Tanker 19 to the Charlie side of the structure for fire attack. While inside, Engine 2's crew conducted fire suppression and overhaul operations on the 2nd floor of the residents. Engine 23-1 arrived and crews were tasked with putting up a ladder to the roof on the Delta side of the structure to allow crews access for ventilation. Due to the mayday call, a second alarm was dropped for additional Fire and EMS resources. Ambulance 23-2 was a part of the EMS side of that second alarm as they are on the next due BLS (Basic Life Support) unit. 23 units cleared the scene at 1410 hours. |
