My condolences to the Massey and Cole families.
Bob was always there. I remember his humor most of all.
Stay strong and safe.
Thank you all for what you do.

I am new to the area and the Firehouse looks fantastic from the road. I was wondering if you have a social club membership. Alot of firehouses in Berks co. have a club that's why i ask.
Really enjoyed your site. Hope you will view my fire pics @ www.flickr/photos/fire44/

enjoyed looking at your website. I lived in Avondale until 1969 and was a member of the Avondale Fire Dept until I moved . I joined the department, as a junior fireman along with Richie Testa, now Richard, as it appears he has a son who is also a member. In reviewing the listing of your members I recognize many names and only assume they are sons and daughters of the folks I served with.

I lived in Avondale many years ago when Pusey's was still selling John Deeres. We bought our 630 from them in about 1960. I went to school with Jimmy Decker and heard he is, or was, a fireman at Avondale. Is this true? If so, say hello to him for me...it has been 53 years? I am retired State Police and Sheriff's Office in Broward County, Florida. Thanks

Hi : I am the represenative for ireca in your area and I also have been a member of the Laurel Volunteer rescue squad here in Laurel Maryland Since 1981. I have also been involved with ireca for more than 25years. We have a conference every year in June that has classes for EMT,Firefighter,Paramedic. We also have competitons in all these plus a technical rescue and sometimes a vehicle extrication competiton if we have enough intrest. This past years conference was in Boise Idaho and we had a new competion called a 4man rescue. I encourage you to check out our website and contact me if you have any questions. We are always looking for more teams to join in the competitions. We even have industrial teams like Exxon Mobil. Please feel free to contact me if I can help you. Thanks Steve.
