On February 7th, at 11:29pm, the Avondale Fire Company was dispatched for a single vehicle accident in the 200 block of Pemberton Road in New Garden Township. Crews in Rescue 23 and Squad 23 responded to find a gray sedan that had driven roughly twenty feet off the roadway and into a tree. The vehicle was found unoccupied so it was determined that the driver and any occupants fled the scene before first responders arrived. Firefighters assisted Blittersdorf's Towing with removing the vehicle and loading it onto the tow truck. Chief 23 was on scene to oversee the operations and Fire Police closed the road for the safety of all working at the scene. The scene was cleaned up and the road was opened at approximately 12:30am.
